The UHM Center for Teaching Excellence and the Graduate Division present:

TEACHING ASSISTANT TRAINING FALL 2009

TA Training is mandatory for new TAs, and new and continuing or potential Teaching Assistants are welcome. Experienced TAs from several departments will be available throughout the training program.

Topics include:

• Undergraduate student panel on teaching and learning
• Rights and responsibilities of TAs
• Grading and assessing student work
• Professional and ethical issues
• Teaching in a multicultural environment
• Facilitating effective discussions
• Encouraging active learning among your students
