Is the Classroom a Space or a Tool?
Disrupting Expectations about Educational Space

Presented by:
David Stubbs, Founder/President/CEO
Cultural-Shift Educational Consultants

This presentation will continue the conversation UH Manoa began with David Stubbs in Fall 2016. David has recently been intently analyzing the dysfunctional aspects of transforming educational space in ways that push boundaries and modify expectations as they relate to all aspects of space. By putting imagination in service to re-envisioning a future that is already residing in the belly of our present, we can move forward to:
• Distinguish the right set of tools and their usefulness within space
• Develop the ability to ask the “why” question rather than rushing to the “how”
• Bridge the chasm between curriculum and facilities

Join us for a unique opportunity for illumination and reflection on the relation of space and design to teaching and learning.

Cultural Shift has been the honored recipient of the A4LE Industry Partner Award as well as the EdSpaces/IIDA Excellence in Innovation Award in his partnership with VS America with the creation of the line of furniture known as Shift+. It bridges the gap between curriculum/instruction and the built environment to create and sustain truly adaptable educational environments.

Lunch will be provided by Office Pavilion to those who register by Thursday, November 2, 2017.

Please register as space is limited.
